Welcome from our Headteacher - Mrs Green

On behalf of the pupils, staff, parents and governors, I am delighted to welcome you to Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School.

At Sacred Heart, children ‘Grow in Love’. All the children and teachers know one another and every individual child’s own learning and development matter deeply to us.

Our Key Stage figures are consistently well above the national average, however, our school is about so much more than just results.

Everything we do is underpinned by our values of Achievement, Care, Consideration, Generosity, Love, Mutual Respect, Patience, Prayer and Tolerance.

We support children to develop, academically, mentally, physically and spiritually and work closely with our local Church, Sacred Heart. As a Catholic school, we welcome families of all faiths and none and we are proud of the multicultural, multispirtual heritage of our community. As one parent described it, 'Sacred Heart is like a mini-world in a playground’.

We have a broad and creative curriculum that challenges and develops the individual child, helping them to explore their interests and abilities.

Our children enjoy access to excellent music and sporting facilities and make the most of our extensive playing field and outdoor spaces.

We provide support for busy working parents and carers with our selection of popular after-school clubs including cookery, gardening, sewing,  art, dance, drama, chess, tennis, football, gymnastics, multi-sports and running. We also have our own on-site Breakfast Club and After-School Club offering child care from 7.30 am to 6.15 pm each weekday.

Our school is a place where children have their say in how things run. Through elected School Councillors and pupil groups such as the Eco Team and Young Interpreters, our students' voices are heard.

Children enjoy that there is lots of integration amongst the different age groups with buddy-systems, whole school assemblies and Do Something Different Days which connect the Infants and Juniors.

We have partnerships with local churches, colleges and schools and have many visitors to Sacred Heart who enrich our children’s education. A thriving Parent Teacher Association ensures lots of well-supported fundraising events throughout the year, and many of our parents help in the classroom, behind the scenes and on school trips.

Our aim is to work with you to provide your children with the best possible start in life, developing children who are confident, caring, responsible and independent. If you would like to see us in action, we would be delighted to show you around our school – simply call our school office to make an appointment.
