Welcome from our Headteacher - Mrs Green

On behalf of the pupils, staff, parents and governors, I am delighted to welcome you to Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School’s website.

Our school is a small, caring and happy one where all the children and teachers know one another and where every child matters. We have high standards of academic achievement, with Key Stage figures consistently above both the national average. However, our school is about so much more than just results.

Everything we do is underpinned by our Catholic faith, and we work in partnership with parents and the Church to provide opportunities to develop the spirituality of our children. We have close links with our parish church of Sacred Heart, Teddington and other surrounding parishes. Children are taught to respect and value other cultures and faiths. We have children of other faiths, no faith and other cultures at our school - all are welcome and very much enrich our school community.

We have a broad and creative curriculum that challenges and develops the individual child, highlighting talents and abilities. We employ a music teacher to provide a great range of musical activities, and we consistently punch above our weight in Borough sports events. Popular  after-school clubs have included cookery, gardening, sewing,  art, dance, drama, chess, tennis, football, gymnastics, multi-sports and running. We also have our own onsite Breakfast Club and After-School Club offering child care from 7.30 am to 6.15 pm each weekday.

Children have a say in the running of our school through elected School Councillors. Other pupil groups such as the Eco Team and Young Interpreters also add value.  There is plenty of integration amongst the different age groups with buddy-systems, whole school assemblies and Do Something Different Days to further connect the Infants and Juniors.

We have a partnerships with local churches, colleges and have many visitors to Sacred Heart who enrich our children’s education. A thriving Parent Teacher Association ensures lots of well-supported fundraising events throughout the year, and many of our parents help in the classroom, behind the scenes and on school trips.

Our aim is to work with you to provide our children with the best possible start in life, developing children who are confident, caring, responsible and independent. If you would like to see these words in action, we would be delighted to show you around our school – simply call our school office to make an appointment.
