We teach children about each number in depth and support children in all areas of their mathematical development. We believe there are opportunities for applying maths skills in all areas of the provision. Adults model correct mathematical language when talking to children to  develop their vocabulary and understanding. Children are encouraged to practise and apply their mathematical skills in their independent play supported by adults. The children use concrete manipulatives to help them develop their understanding and thinking.

Children have dedicated whole class and group maths activities linked to the focus of the week. Suggestions for home activities are given each week.
